    Important Notice

To use a wireless network in SMT, you must use a USB wireless LAN card.

Due to the nature of the Android OS, it is difficult to install drivers, and only products that are supported by the OS can be used.

    Supported Chipsets

    • RTL8188CU > USB 2.0 / 802.11n 150Mbps ⇐ Ready to use immediately after SMT connection (no separate update required)

    • RTL8192CU > USB 2.0 / 802.11n 300Mbps ⇐ Ready to use immediately after SMT connection (no separate update required)

    • RTL8812AU > USB 3.0 / 802.11ac 1200Mbps ⇐ Ready to use immediately after SMT connection (no separate update required)

    • RTL8821CU > USB 2.0 / 802.11ac 600Mbps + Bluetooth 4.2 support ⇐ Products with 16GB of storage capacity require a driver patch

We are currently checking for compatible products available on SMT24, and the confirmed products are as follows:

    • NEXT-1200AC (RTL8812AU) ⇐ As of 2025, the chipset has changed and the new version product cannot be used.

    • ipTIME A2000UA (RTL8812AU) ⇐ Product discontinuation

    • ipTIME N100mini (RTL8188CU) ⇐ Product discontinuation

    • HARDKERNEL WiFi Module 5BK (RTL8821CU)

However, these products are sold in Korea, and products sold in other regions have not been confirmed yet.

Some USB wireless LAN cards that use the supported chipset cannot be used because they do not have driver support.

This is because even if the same chipset is used, the hardware ID required for driver recognition can be set differently by each manufacturer.

Most products use the hardware ID used by the chipset, but some manufacturers use their own hardware ID.

The following product lines are confirmed to use the supported chipset but are not compatible:

    • Belkin products

    • Linksys WUSB6300 (Belkin OEM product line)
